When you open your car door, does a capybara step out?
Two noses.
You can vote on Garibaldi Rous’ new guinea pig co-pet’s name. Read my blog post Name That Piig! Voting closes tomorrow so hop on over right now to vote!
Garibaldi Rous has been foaming at the mouth lately. Luckily, it is very rare for rodents to get rabies. I think he probably hurt his mouth using his teeth to open the door. At least I hope that is it and that it is not something serious, with a capybara you never know.
Garibaldi Rous checks out Maple WoMER (World’s Most Expensive Rabbit) as she rests on Coral. Gari does like to chase Maple but I don’t think he would ever hurt her. (Maple has been sick and required a couple of surgeries, which is how she got her new last name. She is recovering in this photo.)
Swiss chard is one of Garibaldi Rous’ favorite foods. He only gets it when he is in the pool since it is too messy to eat indoors.
You’ll never convict on this, the evidence is all circumstantial. Those could be anyone’s pawprints and how could I, a simple capybara, pull all that stuff off the table?
Garibaldi eats about four of these bowls of lettuce every day, plus a bunch of corn, a bunch of kale, chard or endive, a quarter of a cantaloupe, guinea pig food and grass. He is not a cheap animal to feed.
We got a new guinea pig and I was introducing him to Garibaldi Rous. The capy is very curious. I hope they’ll get along, although the size difference means no unsupervised play. You can read about the guinea pig and help us name him by visiting my blog post, Guinea Who?
Lots of photos featuring Maple WoMER, the World’s Most Expensive Rabbit, lately. Since she’s been sick, I’ve been watching over her more closely and therefore photographing her more.
This is Garibaldi Rous’ worried look. The chickens were squawking and I was squawking back to them. Turns out Gari doesn’t like that.
This is Garibaldi Rous getting ready to chase the rabbits. I do not know why he does this. He never comes close to catching them and, being an herbivore, I’m not sure what he would do if he did. Most of the time they eat and sleep together peacefully. Here’s a video of what happened right after this photo was taken.
