Garibaldi Rous went for another ride in the car today. I can’t believe the improvements I’m seeing in his sense of confidence. Good ‘bura!
All of my work getting Garibaldi Rous used to being in the car is finally starting to pay off. When we were on our evening walk today I opened the car door and he just hopped in so we took a short drive around the block. When we got home I opened the doors and the hatch and he wasn’t in any particular hurry to get out.
Did you notice the BlogPaws sticker on my car? I drove to the conference last year when it was in Salt Lake City. This week I am flying out to Washington DC to attend BlogPaws 2013. That means that this will be the last Capybara Photo-of-the-Day for the next week or so. If you’re going to BlogPaws make sure you stop me and say hi!
Sometimes Garibaldi Rous thinks it is more fun to jump out of the pond like something is after him rather than calmly walking out like a sane capybara.
Garibaldi Rous was plum tuckered out after his trip to an elementary school today. You can read more about his adventure at My Day as Capybassador. His new purple harness seems to be working.
This photo randomly appeared somewhere on the web today so I thought I would post it here. It is Caplin Rous with Jim Swift, who had a segment on the local news called On the Porch with Jim Swift. It’s funny because they are on the porch.
I simply cannot get over how good Garibaldi Rous looks in his new purple harness. It has to work! I know he got out of it once, but maybe it I tighten the strap around his neck it will be harder for him to poke his leg through. Oh capybara! Why must you be so difficult!
Garibaldi Rous wearing his new purple harness. Purple is the perfect color for the King of All Rodents!
Garibaldi Rous got a new harness and leash this weekend! If you’d like to read about it and see more photos, breeze on over to his blog post, The Collar Purple.
This is Garibaldi Rous playing with Rick in the pool today. Gari loves to have Rick throw him over backward. He’s a pretty heavy beast so it is not easy to do.

This drawing by Alexandra Tayts is featured on a new t-shirt available in my Capybara Madness Store. $1 from the sale of each item goes to the ROUS Foundation for Capybara Veterinary Medicine.
URGENT!
This is darling little Rousabelle. She has gone missing when a delivery person left the gate to her yard open earlier this week. She is in Colliers, WV. If you are in that area and hear any rumor that sounds like a capybara spotting, please send me an email ASAP caplinrous at gmail dot com. Rousy is tame but she is probably frightened. Lost on 2013/04/30.
Please repost this as much as possible. But make sure to keep the date associated it with it so I’m not getting emails 10 years from now.
